Dr. Shabo himself has completed over 750 hours of continuing education in implants alone (all coursework hours) and over 250 hours in cosmetic dentistry and full mouth rehabilitation. His attention to detail, high degree of skill, and concern that each patient is getting exactly what they want has his patients singing his praises!

He also gives his time to the Give Back a Smile program for victims of domestic abuse and the Partnership for Families program that provides low or no-cost dental support for the elderly.

Local Dentist Earns Associate Fellowship in National Academy

CHICAGO, IL.—  At the American Academy of Implant Dentistry’s 2009 Annual Meeting, which was held in New Orleans, Louisiana, November 11 – 15, M. Drew  Shabo, DDS, of Chattanooga, TN was recognized as an Associate Fellow of the Academy. As one of 472 dentists who hold this distinguished membership, Dr. Shabo is one of the leading experts in implant care. He maintains a dental practice at 1612 Gunbarrel Rd.

To qualify for Associate Fellowship, Dr. Drew Shabo completed a minimum of 300 hours of post-doctoral instruction in implant dentistry, performed implant cases and passed the Academy’s Associate Fellow examination. This examination, which is conducted by an expert panel of implant dentists, included written examination, a series of oral examinations an defense of three implant cases that he had completed.

The examination process measured Dr. Drew Shabo’s clinical proficiency in surgical and prosthetic dental implant techniques, in-depth knowledge of dental implants, and commitment to excellence in implant dental practice and to the American Academy of Implant Dentistry’s standards for ethics and patient welfare.

The American Academy of Implant Dentistry is the oldest professional organization in the U.S. dedicated to the advancement of the implant field. Its more than 3,600 members include general dentists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, periodontists, and prosthodontist. The Academy’s Associate Fellow credentials are a testament to excellence in implant dentistry.    

Dr. Brooks Pruehs recently received his doctor of dental surgery degree from Loma Linda University, one of the leading clinical institutions, known for producing some of the most well-trained dentists. Being a recent grad, Dr. Pruehs is very current on the newest technology in dentistry that enables him to make his patients' visits as smooth as possible. Brooks has a passion for serving the community in the capacity of dentistry, and has participated in multiple outreach and mission events including a trip to Bangladesh in 2008.

Brooks was born in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and grew up in the Northwest and Texas, where his family moved when he was 14. He completed his Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Southwestern Adventist University where he minored in Biology and Chemistry. During his time in undergraduate studies, Brooks spent a semester abroad in England where he had the opportunity to travel throughout much of Europe.

Brooks and his wife, Jaclyn, recently moved into the Chattanooga area from Southern California. They chose Chattanooga, due in part to it's natural beauty and small town charm, in addition to Jaclyn's southern roots as her family lives in nearby Atlanta. Outside of dentistry, Brooks is actively involved in music ministry and regularly leads worship at his local church. He also plays a major role in his wife's music ministry, Jaclyn Pruehs Music. Other than spending time with his wife and little puppy, Bentley, Brooks enjoys playing golf, mountain biking, skiing, and watching his Dallas Cowboys and Mavericks.
